Stephanie Schulte is coaching her 1st girls varsity season. This is the 51st recorded season of girls varsity basketball at Hebron. The first season was 1920-21, the girls also played the following year. The girls then played from 1927-1938. Basketball at Hebron resumed in 1973-74 to the present. The girls opened the season with a loss to Andrean 44-79. Lynn Tokarski led the team with 10 points. Julie Hogg and Alyssa Sheets each added 8 points. After staying close to Crown Point for most of the first half, the girls fell behind and lost. Julie Hogg led the team with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Paige Hickenbottom added 8 points and Alyssa Sheets had 7 points. Julie Huettner scored 13 points and Paige Hickenbottom added 8 in the loss to Wheeler. Julie has moved up two places to 41st on Hebron's career scoring list. The team and coach Schulte got their 1st win of the season by beating Washington twp 80-55. The 80 points is the most since Hebron beat LaCrosse in the 2005-06 sectional 80-26. Julie Hogg and Lynn Tokarski each scored 20 points. Kara Cunningham added 4 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The girls lost to Boone Grove 39-73. Lynn Tokarski led the team with 9 points. Christy Reick added 8 points, 5 steals, and 2 asssists. The team raised its record to 2-1 in the PCC with a 47-43 overtime win against Morgan. The girls outscored Morgan 6-2 in overtime for the win. Julie Hogg was the leading scorer with 13. Paige Hickenbottom added 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals. Christy Reick had 3 assists. click here for stats through 5 games The girls dropped back to back games against Griffith, Hanover Central and Rensselaer. click here for stats through 9 games Hebron beat South Central 45-30 and lost to Kouts 40-62 to even their PCC record to 3-3. The team beat Morgan Twp in the first round of the South County Tourney before falling to Boone Grove in the championship game. The girls are currently 4-9 and 3-3 in the PCC. Julie Huettner has climbed to 33rd on the career scoring list with 324 points and is also 6th in career 3 point field goals made with 44. Kara Cunningham has moved up to 23rd on the career assist list with 80 career assists. The girls lost to KV in double overtime and then dropped a game against River Forest. Alyssa Sheets had 14 points and Lynn Tokarski added 11 against Kankakee Valley. Alyssa Sheets led the team with 10 points against River Forest. click here for stats through 15 games Hebron beat Washington twp in the opening round of the PCC tourney. Alyssa Sheets led the way with 13 points and 19 rebounds. Alyssa's 19 rebounds is the 3rd most in school history. The record is 21 held by Jennifer Bursley (1988), 2nd is 20 also by Bursley (1991), and 3rd place is 19 with Sharon Steffel (1977), Patti Jo Rust (1982), Becky Schulte (1986) and Alyssa all tied. The girls lost to Boone Grove in the semi-finals. Rachelle Cook had 9 points to lead the team. The team beat LaCrosse 78-43 to finish the PCC round robin season at 4-3. Paige Hickenbottom sccored 22 points followed by Lynn Tokarski 12 points and Julie Hogg 12 points. Kara Cunningham had 8 assists in the game. Julie Huettner is currently in 30th place on the all-time scoring list with 351 career points. Julie is also tied for 3rd place for career 3-point field goals made. Kara Cunningham is 18th on the career assists list. click here for stats through 18 games Julie Hogg scored 13 points to lead the team in a win over West Central. Paige Hickenbottom and Lynn Tokarski followed with 11 points each. click here for stats through 19 games The girls lost to Lowell to finish the regular season with a 7-13 record. The team lost to Boone Grove in the sectional to end the season. The girls finished 7-14. Julie Hogg was named to the PCC all-conference team. JV FINISHES 8-11 The junior varsity team, under 1st year coach Megan Dewell, finished 8-11.
