Kelly Dickensheets is coaching her 27th boys varsity season. KOUTS INVITE CHAMPIONS The boys won the Kouts Invite for the 3rd consecutive year and have won 12 championships in the 24 year history of the tournament. Hebron split a pair of matches beating Morgan and losing to Boone Grove in non-conference action. PCC ROUND ROBIN CHAMPIONS The boys beat Kouts to finish 6-0 in the PCC. The championship was the 7th in school history. Coach Dickensheets has now won 12 PCC round robin championships in her career to move into first place among all Hebron coaches. JV PCC TOURNEY CHAMPIONS The JV and coach Caleb Biggs won the PCC JV tournament for the 7th time in school history. The team finished 12-0 on the season. PCC TOURNEY CHAMPIONS The boys won the PCC tournament for the 7th time in school history. Hebron is now tied with Kouts and Westville for the most boys volleyball tourney championships. Coach Dickensheets won her 7th PCC boys volleyball tourney championship. Coach D was tied at 6 with former Kouts coach Terry Brownell and former Westville coach Jim Clark for the top spot. Coach D now has 10 PCC tourney championships combined for girls and boys volleyball which is 2nd all-time in the PCC behind Jim Clark of Westville who had 11 tourney titles. ORTIZ AND PONCSAK MAKE ALL-CONFERENCE David Ortiz was voted #3 and Brett Poncsak was voted #5 for PCC all-conference
SPRING VOLLEYBALL REGIONAL CHAMPIONS The boys hosted Columbia City and Wheeler in the regional. Wheeler beat Columbia City, then Hebron beat Wheeler for the regional championship. Hebron advanced to the state finals for the 10th consecutive year and 12th overall under the current format for the IBVCA. STATE FINALS Fourth seeded Hebron beat the fifth seed Indianapolis Roncalli in the first round. Hebron then lost in four games to first seed and eventual state champion Indianapolis Cathedral. 2010 IBVCA AWARDS ACADEMIC ALL-STAR - DOUG BREUCKMAN SENIOR ALL-STARS - AUSTIN GEARHART, BRETT PONCSAK, DAVID ORTIZ, AND DOUG BREUCKMAN JUNIOR ALL-STARS - MICHAEL WARREN SENIOR ALL-STAR ALTERNATE - MARK PASSINE BOYS END SEASON 14-2 The team and individual records and stats include the entire fall season and the regional and state finals tournament in the spring. The boys were 12-1 in the fall and 2-1 in the spring for an overall 14-2 record for the 2009-10 season.
