2010 SEASON

The boys started the season by beating LaCrosse and Covenant Christian.  Jasen Egolf and Trevor Lewin each had 3 first place finishes in the meet.

The team beat knox 87-45.  Jake Straka won both hurdle races.  Jake's 110 time of 15.88 was the 18th fastest in school history.  Jasen Egolf added 3 first place finishes.

River Forest edged Hebron 60-72.  Jasen Egolf won 4 events and Jake Straka recorded the 5th fastest time in the 110 hurdles with a 15.39.

Hebron beat Hanover Central and Morgan twp to go to 3-0 in the conference.  The win over Hanover was the first since 1999.  Jake Straka continued to win both hurdle races against both schools while recording the 13th fastest time in the 300 hurdles.

The boys improved to 5-0 in the PCC with wins over Boone Grove and Washington twp.  Jake Straka had 2 wins while Trevor Lewin and Kyle Schmidt each had 1 first.  The 4x100 relay team also won.  Jasen Egolf has accumulated 104.5 points to join the century club.

The team finished second at the Kouts Invitational.  First place finishers for Hebron were Jasen Egolf (1600), Kyle Schmidt (3200), Jake Straka (110H), Mark Passine (discus) and the 3200 relay team of Jasen Egolf, Kyle Schmidt, Trevor Lewin and Ryan Hough.

HEBRON WINS PCC ROUND ROBIN CHAMPIONSHIP

The team won the PCC round robin championship by beating Kouts and South Central to finish 7-0.  The title is the first since 1997 and is the 11th championship in school history.  Mark Passine threw the 5th best discus in school history (166' 8").  Jake Straka and Trevor Lewin joined the century club in the meet.

The boys finished 5th at the Washington twp relays.  The 3200 relay team of Hunter Barbian, Trevor Lewin, Ryan Hough and Kyle Schmidt got the only 1st on the day.  The shuttle hurdle team had the 2nd best time in school history.
 

STRAKA AND SHRUM MAKE ALL-CONFERENCE

Hebron finished 2nd in the PCC meet.  Jake Straka won the 110m hurdles to make all-conference and Alex Shrum pole vualted 11' 6" to win and also make all-conference.  Mark Passine and Hunter Barbian made the century club in the meet.

BOYS FINISH 4TH IN SECTIONAL

The team scored 62 points to finish 4th in the sectional.  Jasen Egolf was the sectional champion in the 1600m with a time of 4:30.8.  Jake Straka advanced to the regional in both hurdle races with his 300 time being the 3rd fastest in school history.  Mark Passine finished 2nd in the discus, Kyle Schmidt finished 3rd in the 3200m, Trevor Lewin finished 3rd in the 800m and the 3200 relay team of Hunter Barbian, Jasen Egolf, Ryan Hough and Tyler Keehn ran the 4th fastest time in school history with a time of 8:25.91 while finishing 3rd.

JASEN EGOLF ADVANCES TO STATE MEET

The team finished tied for 16th with 11 points in the Valpo regional.  Jasen Egolf finished 2nd in the 1600m with a time of 4:25.83 to advance to the state meet.  Trevor Lewin ran the 16th fastest 800m and finsished 11th, Kyle Schmidt ran the 18th fastest 3200m to finish 12th, Jake Straka ran the 4th fastest 300m hurdles and finished 14th, the 3200m relay team of Hunter Barbian, Kyle Schmidt, Ryan Hough, and Trevor Lewin ran the 17th fastest time and finished 14th.

Jasen Egolf finished 22nd in the 1600 meters at the state meet.  Jasen's time of 4:30.38 was the 14th fastest in school history.

Jasen Egolf set Hebron sophomore records for most points scored and most 1st place finishes by a sophomore.  Jasen broke Eric Gibson's record of 170 points set in 1997 by scoring 178.5.  Jasen placed 1st 27 times to break the record of 25 set by Don Yeoman (1964), Brian Bell (1972), Larry Cooley (1973) and Eric Gibson (1997).

Jake Straka tied the record for most 1st place finishes in the 300m intermediate hurdles with 11 in his career.  Jake tied LP Ailes and Zach Eich

Trevor Lewin broke George Kovach's record of 24 1st place finishes in the 3200m relay.  Trevor has placed 1st in this relay 26 times.
