Zeljko Mijatovic will be coaching his 2nd season at Hebron. The team will compete in the PCC and Northwest Indiana Soccer Conference. The boys opened the season with a PCC win over Washington twp. 11-0. Alex Shrum, Grant Morrow and Richie Botts each scored 2 goals. Scoring 1 goal each were Sam Morrow, Grant Kowal, David Lucas, Cory Cox and Daniel Barzycki. Richie Botts also had 4 assists in the game. Eric Barzycki had 2 assists and Daniel Barzycki, Cory Cox, Alex Shrum and David Lucas each had 1 assist. Joe Moser had 4 saves while getting the shutout. HAWKS WIN GOLDEN SHOE The team beat Kouts in the Golden Shoe game to bring the trophy to Hebron for the first time. Joe Moser had 6 saves in the 1-0 shutout. Zack Sprouse scored the goal and Richie Botts had the assist. Hebron is now 2-0 in the PCC. The 2 PCC wins is the most in a season in the 4 year history of the sport. Hebron beat Lowell 7-4 for the first time in school history. Alex Shrum led the way with 3 goals and 1 assist. Grant Morrow (1 goal), Grant Kowal (1 goal), Alex Moffett (1 goal), Tyler Vargas (1 goal), Will Foy (1 assist), Cory Cox (1 assist) and Sam Morrow (1 assist) also contributed to the win. Joe Moser had 6 saves. Joe Moser had 14 saves in a 2-0 loss to Boone Grove. Alex Shrum scored a goal and Joe Moser stopped 20 shots in a 6-1 loss to Bishop Noll. The boys lost to Hanover Central 4-1 in a PCC and NISC game. Hebron lost a pair of NISC games against MC Marquette and Wheeler. Richie Botts scored a goal against Wheeler and Joe Moser had 11 saves against Wheeler. The team beat Winimac and tied Rochester in the Winimac Tournament. Alex Shrum led the team with 2 goals and 2 assists against Winimac. Grant Morrow, David Lucas and Alex Moffet also scored goals. Richie Botts and Alex Shrum scored against Rochester. Grant Morrow scored on a Richie Botts assist but the team lost to Covenant Christian in a shootout. Alex Shrum scored 2 goals and Richie Botts and David Lucas also scored in a 4-1 win over Westville. Joe Moser had 13 saves and Alex Shrum scored in a 2-1 loss to Morgan. Alex Shrum, Richie Botts and Daniel Barzycki scored in a 4-3 win over Rensselaer. The win is the 6th of the year and sets a new record for wins in a season. The team lost in the sectional to Hanover 1-5. Alex Shrum scored and Joe Moser had 6 saves. The boys finished with a 6-8-1 record which is the best in the 9 year history of the sport at Hebron.
