Coach Todd Adamczyk is coaching his 4th wrestling season at Hebron. Hebron had a varsity wrestling team in 1979, 1980, and 1981. The team competed on the JV level in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 the program moved back up to the varsity level. The team opened the season with a loss to Hammond Gavit 17-58. Brandon Sanchez got a pin and Nathan Bateman, Patrick Forbes and Danny Wallace all got wins. The team got its first win of the season at the Benton Central duals with a 42-18 win over Indianapolis Brefeuf. The team was 1-4 on the day. Giovanni Phan was 5-0 on the day. In the win over Brebeuf, Giovanni, Nathan Bateman, Tyler Keehn, Danny Wallace, Patrick Forbes, Eric Windsor and Brandon Sanchez all got wins in their matches. The boys lost a close match to Hammond High only losing 2 matches but had to forfeit in 6 other weight classes. Nathan Gajda, Danny Wallace, Eric Windsor and Jon Wallace all had pins in their matches. Nathan Bateman and Patrick Forbes also got wins. Hebron finished 2-2 at the Boone Grove super duals to finish 3rd. The Hawks beat Hammond and Whiting and lost a close match to Boone Grove by just 3 points. Individual champions were Nathan Bateman at 138 pounds and Jon Wallace at 182 pounds. Giovanni Phan, Nathan Gajda, Tyler Keehn and Danny Wallace were all 3-1. The team lost to Wallace and beat Hammond High for their 4th win of the season. Hebron went 0-4 on the day at the Rensselaer super duals. Individually the boys were 17-11 on the day, but had to forfeit 23 matches because of vacant weight classes. Giovanni Phan, Jon Wallace and Patrick Forbes were all 3-1. The boys competed in the Twin Lakes Tourney with Giovanni Phan and Jon Wallace each getting 2 wins. Giovanni had 2 pins. Hebron won all 7 matches against Roosevelt. The only losses were by forfeit. Nathan Bateman, Tyler Keehn, Eric Windsor and Jon Wallace all pinned their opponents. Giovanni Phan, Danny Wallace and Patrick Forbes also got wins. The team went 2-3 at the Griffith super duals. Tommy Fritsch and Jon Wallace each were 5-0 on the day. Nathan Bateman and Eric Windsor were 4-1, Danny Wallace was 3-2 and Giovanni Phan and Nathan Gajda were 2-3. The win over Hammond Clark was the 6th this season which sets a new team season record for wins. Hebron had a rough day at the Nick Spitler Invite at North Newton. The team went 1-4. Jon Wallace was the best individual going 4-1 on the day. Nathan Bateman was 3-2. The team beat Hammond Bishop Noll 36-16 for their 9th win of the season. Hebron won 7 out of 10 matches. Hebron lost to River Forest to end the regular season with a 9-21 record. Hebron finished 9th with 25.5 points in the Crown Point sectional. Jon Wallace advanced to the regional for the 2nd consecutive year with a 3rd place finish at 182 pounds. Giovanni Phan (106) and Nathan Bateman (138) each finished in 6th place in their weight classes. Jon Wallace lost his first match in the Crown Point regional.
