Hebron is the defending sectional champions. The girls beat Lowell 6-4 to open the season. The win against Lowell was the 1st in 7 meetings with the Red Devils. Mollie Lindeman got the complete game win and also was 2-3 with 2 doubles. Alyssa Spore and Ashlyn Wheeler also had 2 hits. The team dropped a close game to Portage 2-1. Alyssa Spore and Mollie Lindeman each had 2 hits. Carrie Combs struck out 5 and allowed no earned runs in the hard luck loss. Mollie Lindeman was 2-3 with a home run and 4 rbi's to go along with 8 strikeouts in 3 innings against Merrillville. Carrie Combs picked up the win while Laura MacNeill and Dani Heath each had 2 hits. Hebron beat Hammond Gavit 11-1 in 5 innings. Mollie Lindeman and Alyssa Spore each were 4-4. Mollie had 2 doubles and a triple with 2 rbi's while Alyssa had a double and 4 rbi's. Laura MacNeill and Dani Heath each collected 2 hits. The girls opened PCC play with a 5-1 win over Hanover Central. The win is the 1st against Hanover since the 2006 season and only the 4th win in 22 games with the Wildcats. Laura MacNeill (3-4) and Bre Lewin (2-3) led the offense. Mollie Lindeman struck out 8 and got the win. Hebron battled Chesterton for 11 innings before falling 2-1. Mollie Lindeman led the way with 2 hits and 10 strikeouts in 7 innings. Alyssa Spore was 3-4 to lead the team past North Judson 15-1. Ashlyn Wheeler and Laura MacNeill added 2 hits. Mollie Lindeman struck out 8 in an 8-5 win over Hobart. Mollie also added a home run and 3 rbi's. Emily O'Leary had 3 hits and Alyssa Spore and Ashlyn Wheeler each added 2 hits. LINDEMAN THROWS NO-HITTER Mollie Lindeman threw a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over LaCrosse. Mollie had 11 strikeouts and 1 walk and added a double and 4 rbi's. The no-hitter was the 9th in the history of the program and the 2nd for Mollie. Mollie also was part of a 3rd no-hitter when she combined with Carrie Combs last season on a no-hitter. Alyssa Spore was 3-4, Emily O'Leary 2-3 and Christy Reick 2-3. Carrie Combs pitched a 2-hit shutout in an 11-0 win over Morgan Twp. Emily O'Leary was 2-2 with a double and triple and 2 rbi's. Emily O'Leary was 3-3 with a double and Ashlyn Wheeler was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 3 rbi's. Mollie Lindeman had 9 strikeouts in a 1 hit shutout of Boone Grove 8-0. Christy Reick had 3 hits to lead the offense. The girls scored 2 runs in the 7th to beat North Newton 2-1. Carrie Combs was the winning pitcher. HEBRON WINS PCC ROUND ROBIN CHAMPIONSHIP The team beat South Central to finish the PCC round robin schedule at 7-0 and win the title. The championship is the 2nd for Hebron. Mollie Lindeman got the shutout and Emily O'Leary had 3 hits in the win. Alyssa Spore added 2 hits. The girls had a 2 game losing streak before beating Highland 15-4. The losses came against Hammond Bishop Noll 0-5 and Whiting 3-8. Emily O'Leary homered in the Whiting game. Ashlyn Wheeler had 4 rbi's, Emily O'Leary had 3 hits and Ashley Spurr, Mollie Lindeman and Alyssa Spore each added 2 hits against Highland. Hebron opened the PCC tourney with a win over Kouts 14-4. The team beat Hanover Central 5-0 in the semi-finals. Mollie Lindeman had a home run and 3 rbi's against Kouts and Emily O'Leary added 2 doubles and 4 rbi's and Ashlyn Wheeler added 3 rbi's. Carrie Combs struck out 9 for the win. Mollie Lindeman threw a 1 hit shutout with 10 strikeouts against Hanover. Alyssa Spore and Ashley Spurr each had 2 hits. PCC TOURNEY CHAMPIONS Hebron beat South Central 14-4 to win its 2nd PCC tourney championship. Alyssa Spore led the offense with a 4-4 game with 3 runs. Rachel Pauer added 3 hits and Mollie Lindeman had 3 hits and got the win. SPURR WINS MENTAL ATTITUDE AWARD Ashley Spurr won the Joseph Fetty award for Mental Attitude in girls softball. Ashley is the 5th Hebron girl to win the award in 15 seasons of PCC girls softball. Carrie Combs struck out 6 in a 3-0 shutout of Valpo. Emily O'Leary was 3-4, Mollie Lindeman hit a home run and Ashlyn Wheeler was 2-4 in a loss to Kankakee Valley. COMBS THROWS NO-HITTER Carrie Combs threw the 10th no-hitter in Hebron history in a win against Rensselaer. Carrie also combined on a no-hitter last year. GIRLS REACH 20 WINS Hebron beat Andrean 8-4 for their 20th win of the season. It is the second time a Hebron softball team has won 20 or more games. The 2005 team won 21 games. This is also only the 18th time in school history that a team has won 20 or more games in a season. In the game Emily O'Leary had 3 hits including a home run, Ashley Spurr had 2 hits and 3 rbi's and Christy Reick had a double. The girls opened the sectional with a win over North Newton 9-2. Laura MacNeill, Alyssa Spore and Mollie Lindeman each had 2 hits. Mollie also struck out 13 to get the win. Hebron beat Boone Grove 8-2 to advance to the sectional final. Emily O'Leary was 3-4 with 3 rbi's and Ashley Spurr was 2-4 with 2 rbi's to lead the offense. The girls set a new softball team record with 22 wins this season. Mollie Lindeman struck out 7 in the win. LINDEMAN PCC MVP Mollie Lindeman was voted the PCC mvp. Mollie is the 2nd Hebron softball player to be the MVP. Maggie Riggs earned the honor in 2006. Emily O'Leary was voted to the all-conference team as the 2nd best player in the conference. Alyssa Spore also made all-conference in the #6 spot. SECTIONAL CHAMPS Hebron won its 2nd straight sectional championship and 3rd overall for the softball program. Carrie Combs pitched 5 innings and struck out 5 and allowed 1 hit. Mollie Lindeman pitched the final 2 innings and struck out 4 and had 2 hits. Emily O'Leary, Laura MacNeill and Kyle Doelling each had two hits. Maggie Lindeman doubled and had 2 rbi's. REGIONAL CHAMPIONS The girls beat Hanover Central 2-1 to win the regional championship for the first time in school history. Carrie Combs gave up 1 hit over 4 innings to get the win and Mollie Lindeman pitched the final 3 innings to get the save. Carrie and Mollie also added 2 hits each. Alyssa Spore had a hit and an rbi while Laura MacNeill and Christy Reick also added hits. SEMI-STATE FINALISTS Hebron beat Jimtown 6-5 before falling to state #1 Woodlan 3-0 in the LaVille semi-state. Mollie Lindeman got the win in relief and also added 2 hits. Emily O'Leary had a home run and scored 2 runs and Ashlyn Wheeler had 2 hits and 2 rbi's. Rachel Pauer, Christy Reick and Audrey Sutherland also had hits against Jimtown. Alyssa Spore got the lone hit for Hebron in the championship game against Woodlan. Hebron finished the season with a 25-6 record. The 25 wins matches the 1992 girls volleyball team and the 2001-02 girls basketball team for the most wins in a season by any Hebron team.
