LEVI SMITH
1906 IHSAA TRACK AND FIELD
100 YARD DASH AND 220 YARD DASH
ALL-STATE
Levi placed 2nd in the 100 yard dash as well as the 220 yard dash in the 1906 IHSAA state meet. His two 2nd place finishes were good for 6 points, which left Hebron in 10th place in the meet. Although there were no official all-state honors given out in 1906, the accomplishment deserves to be listed with the other IHSAA honorees. Levi also participated in the 440 yard dash and the 220 yard low hurdles, but didn't place. The IHSAA didn't have a sectional or regional round in 1906, so anyone that showed up on race day was allowed to participate. Earlier in the 1906 season, at the Porter County track meet, Levi picked up 6 first place ribbons. He won the 50 yard dash, 100 yard dash, 220 yard dash, 440 yard dash, 220 yard low hurdles and was a member of the winning mile relay team.
