2009 HEBRON BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Mike DeFries will be coaching his 4th season at Hebron. 

The boys competed in the Kankakee Valley Hokum Karem for the first time.  2-runner teams race with their times combined.  Jasen Egolf and Trevor Lewin ran 33:54 to finish 2nd in the meet. 

  The boys finished 3rd at the North White Invite.  Trevor Lewin led the team in 8th place.  Trevor's time of 17:36 was the 3rd fastest Hebron time at this meet.

The boys finished 4th in the Valparaiso Invite.  Jasen Egolf finished 6th (18:00) and Trevor Lewin finished 16th (18:34).  Jasen's time set a new record for a Hebron runner at this meet.  Trevor also beat the old record and has the 2nd fastest time.

The team finished 2nd at the Hammond Gavit Invite. Jasen Egolf led the team finishing 3rd.  Trevor Lewin (6th) and Kyle Schmidt (7th) also were in the top 10.  Jasen's time of 17:11 was only 1 second away from setting a new Hebron record at this meet.  Richard Ferber ran a 17:10 in 2003. Trevor and Kyle have the 3rd and 4th fastest times.

The boys opened the PCC season with a 15-50 win over LaCrosse.  Jasen Egolf won the race in 17:57.  Trevor Lewin, Kyle Schmidt, Ryan Hough, Hunter Barbian, Brandon Long and Nick Lyons finished 2nd through 7th for the sweep.  Jasen's time was the 2nd fastest PCC round robin time at the Boone Grove course for a Hebron runner.

BOB THOMAS INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

The boys ran in Lowell's Bob Thomas Invitational for only the 2nd time and came away with the championship trophy.  Hebron's only other appearance in this meet was in 2004.  Jasen Egolf was 4th with a new Hebron record in the meet with a time of 16:59.  Jasen's time is 1 of about 30 sub 17 minute times at Hebron since 1980.  Trevor Lewin finished 10th, followed by Kyle Schmidt 13th, Ryan Hough 21st, and Hunter Barbian 25th.  This was the Hebron boys first championship since they won the New Prairie Invite in 2001.

The team raised their PCC record to 3-0 with wins over Morgan and Washington. 

Hebron was the top Indiana team at the New Prairie Invite.  Beecher, IL and Bridgeman, MI finished ahead of the Hawks in the "A" race.  Jasen Egolf led the way with an 8th place finish.  The team also entered the freshman-sophomore race for all classes in which they finished 30th.  3 runners also competed in the reserve race.

The boys raised their PCC record to 5-0 with wins over Boone Grove and South Central.  Hebron, Kouts and Hanover Central will meet September 28 to battle for the PCC round robin title.  All 3 teams are currently 5-0 in the conference.

The boys ran in the Highland Invitational for the first time.  The team finished 9th with 218 points.  Jasen Egolf finished 8th and established a new course record with his 2nd sub-17 minute time of the season (16:52). 

The team finished the PCC round robin with a 6-1 record.  Kouts outscored Hebron 25-30 to take the round robin championship.  This is Hebron's best PCC finish since 2005.

The boys finished 2nd in the PCC meet.  Trevor Lewin led the way in 6th place with the 2nd fastest PCC meet time at Boone Grove for a Hebron runner.  Kyle Schmidt (11th) and Jasen Egolf (12th) ran the 3rd and 4th fastest times for this meet.  Hunter Barbian (15th) also made All-Conference.

Elyboy Ronquillo won the PCC JV race.  Elyboy is the 9th Hebron runner to win this race.

The team was incomplete against North Judson, KV, and Rensselaer and picked up 3 losses to end the season 6-5.

The boys finished 3rd at the Rensselaer sectional to advance to the New Prairie regional.  Jasen Egolf, Kyle Schmidt, and Trevor Lewin posted the 3 fastest times for Hebron in the sectional at Rensselaer.

The team finished 8th at the New Prairie regional.  Jasen Egolf finished first for Hebron with the 4th fastest regional time in school history (17:05).  Following Jasen was Kyle 35th, Trevor 44th, Ryan 49th, Nick 56th, Hunter 62nd, and Dan 67th.

Jasen Egolf led the team in points this season with 175.5.  Jasen finished 1st for Hebron in 12 meets this year.
