Mike DeFries will be coaching his 5th season at Hebron. The boys finished 2nd in the PCC meet and the PCC round robin last year. Jason Egolf and Trevor Lewin teamed up to win the KV Hokum Karem in a school record 32:54. Kyle Schmidt and Hunter Barbian finished 3rd. NORTH WHITE INVITE CHAMPIONS Hebron won the North White Invitational for the 2nd time in school history and first time since 1996. Jasen Egolf won the race in a time of 16:55 to set a new school record. The old record was set in 1996 by Clay Malayter (16:59). Trevor Lewin (3rd), Ryan Witt (15th), Kyle Schmidt (19th) and Hunter Barbian (22nd) followed Jasen. Jasen Egolf and Trevor Lewin finished in the top 10 in the Valpo invite. Jasen's time of 17:55 set a new Hebron record in the meet. HAMMOND GAVIT INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS Jasen Egolf and Trevor Lewin finished 1st and 2nd to lead the team to the Hammond Gavit Invitational championship. Kyle Schmidt 9th, Jon Hogg 10th and Ryan Witt 11th followed. Jasen set a new Hebron meet record with a time of 17:01 to beat the previous record set by Richard Ferber in 2003. Trevor ran the 4th fastest time (17:19). The boys beat Lowell 21-34 behind a first place finish from Jasen Egolf. Trevor Lewin 3rd, Kyle Schmidt 4th, Jon Hogg 6th and Ryan Witt 7th all finished in the top 10. The team opened the PCC season with wins over Kouts and Hanover Central. Hebron had the first 4 runners and 7 in the top 10. The top runners were Jasen Egolf, Trevor Lewin, Kyle Schmidt, Jon Hogg, Ryan Witt, Hunter Barbian and Giovanni Phan. The boys finished 3rd in the Bob Thomas Invite at Lowell. Jasen Egolf won the race in a time of 16:30. Kyle Schmidt and Trevor Lewin followed in 15th and 16th place. The team had the top 6 runners and 9 of the top 10 against LaCrosse. Trevor Lewin won the race followed by Kyle Schmidt 2nd, Ryan Witt 3rd, Jasen Egolf 4th, Hunter Barbian 5th, David Lucas 6th, Giovanni Phan 8th, Dan Seel 9th and Matt Lyons 10th. The boys were the top Indiana team at the New Prairie Invitational. Hebron finished 2nd by one point to Beecher, Illinois. Jasen Egolf led Hebron in 4th place followed by Schmidt 10th, Lewin 11th and Jon Hogg 17th. The boys moved to 5-0 in the PCC with wins over Morgan and Washington. Hebron had the top 4 finishers and 8 in the top 10. The team finished 5th at the Highland Invite. Jasen finished 4th and set a new Hebron course record (16:12). Trevor also finished in the top 20 at 17th. In the reserve race Giovanni finsihed 14th and Dan Seel 15th. PCC ROUND ROBIN CHAMPIONS Hebron beat South Central and Boone Grove to finish the PCC round robin season at 7-0. The title is the 10th for Hebron and the first since 1996. PCC MEET CHAMPS, 7 MAKE ALL-CONFERENCE The boys easily outdistanced runner-up Hanover 25 to 67 to win their 9th PCC meet title. Trevor Lewin won the race and became the 5th individual champion for Hebron. Also making all-conference were Jasen Egolf 2nd, Jon Hogg 3rd, Ryan Witt 8th, Hunter Barbian 11th, Kyle Schmidt 13th and David Lucas 15th. The 7 all-conference runners is the most for Hebron, beating the 1971 team that had 6 runners in the top 10 (only the top 10 made all-conference then). Giovanni Phan won the reserve race and became the 10th Hebron runner to win this race. The boys beat North Judson and lost to KV and Rensselaer to end the regular season at 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the PCC. The team finished 3rd in the Rensselaer sectional with 67 points. Trevor Lewin led the way in 4th place with a new Hebron winning time in the sectional (17:10). Hebron finished 6th with 143 points at the New Prairie regional. Jasen Egolf finished 11th to advance to the semi-state in a time of 16:31. Jasen's time is the 3rd best regional time for Hebron. Jasen finished 106th in a time of 17:51 at the New Prairie semi-state.
